Reddit Title Character Limit

A Reddit post title can commonly use up to 300 characters, but many subreddits have stricter title rules. Count the title before posting, then check the subreddit sidebar or posting form for any community-specific limit.

How to write a clear Reddit title

• State the question, problem, or result without burying it at the end.
• Include key context such as platform, product, location, or version when it matters.
• Avoid clickbait titles because many communities remove vague or misleading posts.
• Check subreddit-specific rules before adding brackets, tags, spoilers, or flair text.

Title length vs post body

The title should make the post understandable in the feed. Use the body for background, details, links, and examples. If the title is approaching the limit, move extra explanation into the post body and keep the title focused.
