How to Remove Line Breaks from Copied Text
Text copied from PDFs, emails, old documents, and narrow web pages often breaks in the middle of sentences. Removing those line breaks makes the text easier to edit, paste, and publish.
Paste the text into the Text Cleaner and choose Remove Line Breaks. The tool joins single line breaks with spaces while keeping blank lines as paragraph breaks.
When to remove line breaks
- A PDF copy creates a new line after every visual row.
- An email reply wraps sentences at a fixed width.
- A copied article has broken paragraphs after import.
- A form or CMS needs plain paragraphs instead of short lines.
What to check after cleaning
Review the first and last sentence of each paragraph. If headings, list items, or addresses were part of the text, you may need to restore those line breaks manually.
After cleaning, use the Word Counter to check word count, character count, reading time, and repeated words before publishing.
